It has been a long time coming....
Well, I have been gone for a while. During the last week or so, I have been on a couple interviews out of the metro area. I had one in Hastings (what a beautiful city) for a part time preschool teacher and one in Hibbing for a full time Kindergarten teacher. Both interviews went well!
Last Friday was a day like any other, I was trying hard not to think about if I was going to hear from the principals. Well, I happen to be working and went to check my phone and I had a message to call the principal in Hibbing. I knew what that meant! If they give the position to someone else they will tell you in a voicemail. If the leave a message asking you to call them back that can only mean one thing. So, I called her back and SHE OFFERED ME A JOB AND I ACCEPTED!!!! I was in shock!! I called my mom first, then my dad and told some people at work. Word travels quickly, soon everyone knew. I will meet with the principal in July sometime to sign paperwork, get the keys to my very own classroom and find a place to live.
I am extremely excited to start this new adventure! I know no one in Hibbing, but that is exciting to me! I am looking forward to decorating my classroom and apartment, meeting my students, exploring a new city and getting to my new co-workers. I have not slept the last two nights because stop thinking about what my apartment and room will look like.
So, I am looking forward to my new adventure (hence the title of this blog) and I hope you will continue to follow this blog because it is going to get much more exciting...I hope!

Sorry!
I know I have been gone for a while, but not much has been going on. I have had a few interviews, but did not get the position. It has been frustrating, but I am kind of used to it by now. I have been either working or sending out applications. That has been my life for the past month....real exciting, I know!!
Starting tomorrow, I will be finishing the school year for my stepmom, who is a Kindergarten teacher. She is going on medical leave, so I will be taking over. I am really looking forward to it. We will have fun!!
Well, it is thunderstorming here right now, which I am enjoying.
Thanks for stopping by!!

We're Back!
We had a short road trip to the Moorhead area. We left last night about 8:30pm and arrived at my aunt's house about 11:00pm. We sat up for about 2 hours to talk and laugh, like we always do. It really helped to calm my nerves. We went to bed and I did not sleep well since I was afraid of oversleeping and nervous. Got up early and spent a long time getting ready. Making sure my hair and makeup were perfect. Then about 9:15am we said our goodbyes to my aunt and Miss Cami Jo and started our hour and half journey to Moorhead.
We finally made it about 20 minutes before the interview began. I was interviewing with 3 other women and we were making small talk before the interview began. The was a panel of 8 interviewers. We began by introducing ourselves, then we broke off into 4 small interview sessions. We each interviewed on our own with 2 interviewers. It was a really neat set up and it was nice to meet with a small group. The interview lasted about an hour and half. The district is doing interviews for the two days and then hopefully by Friday I will know if I go in for a second interview with the building principal and teachers.
When I was finished my mom and I visited my cousin. He owns a gym in Moorhead and we have never been there, so we stopped in, took a tour and spent a few minutes chatting. Then we headed for the hills. We were both tired and ready to head home.
Though it was short, it was a great trip! So, thank you mom for coming with me and supporting me. Thank you to my aunt and uncle for letting us stay for the night.
Please keep praying for me that I make it to the next round!

And We Are Off....
Well, my bags are packed and we are almost out the door. My mom and I are taking a quick road trip up to Moorhead. I have interview tomorrow at 11:00am at the district office. I am really excited, but a bit nervous! I would really like to teach in the Moorhead district. Another plus, I would be close to my family that lives up in that area. We are staying at my aunt's house tonight, so thank you Karen and Bob for hosting us for the night, though it may be short!
So, please pray for me and cross your fingers and toes that it goes well.

Everything is finally coming together...
Welcome Back Peeps! It has been an awesome day today! I found out that after much hassle NYC has accepted my application. The next step is to start searching for jobs in NYC. Once I find some I can e-mail principals that I am interested and we go to the next step. So, I am excited that after all the stress I have put into that application it is finally coming together.
I have spent hours sending out applications in the last two weeks and I think it is paying off. I got TWO phone calls today for interviews. That is right...TWO...I can't believe it! I am going to try super hard not to get my hopes up, but this is the best that has happened in a long time. One interview is up North, not far from my Aunt and Uncle's house. My mom is going to go drive with me since it is a long trip and we will be making a pit stop to visit some family. I am super nervous for that interview because it is a round robin interview. Other candidates and I will be interviewing together for a part of it. I think it will go fine! I have over a week to prepare and very few sub jobs this week, so I can focus on prepping myself. The second interview is a phone interview for a small Catholic school about an hour away. If that goes well, then I will schedule a face-to-face interview with them.
Today has been a awesome day!! Who knows what the next few days will bring, but I hope more interviews are my way....I am convinced it is my reading license that I am working on that is attracting principals!
So, please pray for me and keep your fingers and toes crossed for me! I will be back with an update after it is all said and done!
Stay Tuned!!

I am back on the right track...
Well, I finally e-mailed New York again to ask about my application and I actually got a response within ONE hour. It was amazing! I found out that when filling out my application I had written down the wrong teaching license, the one they don't accept. So last night I e-mailed my license to New York and they are currently reviewing my application. I know meet the correct requirements to be considered. We will see how long it takes this time to get a response. I hope not long!! I hope this all works out!!
I had an awesome weekend with my good friend up north. I will be back with some pics and a post about our great adventure!
